Studying at the University of Corsica

8 departments, 4 education areas, more than 100 diplomas: the University of Corsica offers a wide range of academic programmes closely linked to the occupational sectors.

To pave the way for success and integration of its 4,500 students, the University of Corsica enjoys a broad range of academic programmes, divided into 4 basic areas (Law-Economics-Management, Art-Literature-Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences, Sciences-Technologies-Health-STAPS), including state-of-the-art teachings such as a first year in Medical Studies or an Engineering School.

The University of Corsica ranks among the best French Universities in terms of Bachelor’s degree success rate. According to a 2014 survey from the Higher Education and Research Ministry, it ranks 6th out of 77 universities in terms of Bachelor’s degree success rate for the students who remained in the same university for the 3 years. This performance can be partly explained by the relatively low number of students that enables a special connection between students and professors.

With a professor-student ratio among the best in France, the University of Corsica combines closeness and multidisciplinarity with success and excellence. The University quality control and academic programme improvement processes include programme evaluation questionnaires to the students, and Improvement Committees to foster links with the professional world.

The University of Corsica has set up mechanisms to foster student success: New student reception days, tutoring, career-oriented modules, ongoing assessment, digital working environment and online teaching, curriculum shift and bridges between programmes, language and IT certifications.

Labour market integration of graduates is a constant concern, hence programmes are geared towards the labour market and to particular targeted jobs related to local development in the digital, law, broadcasting and communication, economics and company management, environment and renewable energies engineering, sustainable tourism, civil engineering, health, etc. fields.
